My own artwork this time. I've wanted to give Ruby the MLP treatment since making her EqG design years ago, but rather than make her a pony I went with a full fox. While thinking of the design I tried to think of a possible backstory for her. In Equestria Ruby was young Kitsune, a type of mythical fox that can speak and has some limited magical abilities and who loves finding treasure. One day she got chased into Ponyville after taking some treasure from Diamond dogs and she hid inside Twilight's castle and eventually ran into the Magic Mirror that led into the human world, transforming her into a human girl.

My knowledge on actual Kitsunes is limited but I do know they can grow multiple tails as they aged and some transform into women to play tricks on people. Ruby being a fox-girl just made me think it would fit. Her only having one tail I tried to explain as her being a very young Kitsune who has yet to grow a second tail.

I'm pretty proud of how this turned out since I don't have much practice with MLP style outside of using a base or two. This pic was drawn from scratch with only the eyes being traced in Photoshop to get the right shape and look. I want to thank my friend for her advice when it comes to the artstyle as she has done several original species that look like they would fit right in the show.
