Description this is a simple paint job that i did from a gbc in really bad condition (bad speaker, dirty everywhere, buttons that didn't respond, etc.)
Here is a pic of the original state of the console: imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/872x…

Things done:

-Painted the case black and the buttons white
-Replaced the led with a blue one.
-Changed the capacitors
-Installed a new speaker
-Cleaned the buttons contacts
-ProAudio Mod

Things left to do:
-Get a new battery cover
-Get a new screen cover

any way to get a tutorial on how to do all of this stuff, I might get one from my friend(It's his old one, he says it's in bad shape, but useable)

sure.
To open the console you need a triwing screwdriver or a small flathead screwdriver (mine says 1.5 size and it worked). here is a video showing all the steps to open the gbc: www.youtube.com/watch?v=E98sZG…
I use some q-tips with alcohol to clean the buttons contacts and cleaned the console plastics using water and soap letting it dry perfectly and making sure that its perfectly clean before assembly it again or sanding it for painting
I followed this guy tips for the painting: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nKIXC… . I usually put 3 layers of paint on my consoles. I suggest you to practice on something small before doing it on the console, or just do a cleaning job and that will make you console look just as new.

The led for the power is a 3mm one (i put another size since the store didnt had one of that size and made it fit using some case modding but you should go for a 3mm)
The speaker is really simple, get a new one with the same size desolder the old one and solder the new one. With this two mods you really need to have some soldering skills. I you dont have, i suggest you to dont try it before practicing in something else first.

oh, and here is a video of how to replace the screen cover www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW64Ln…
i did this from the inside since i had to remove the screen and the cover to paint it
i hope i could help you (i am really bad at explaining things xD). Tell me if you need something more.

sorry for the late reply, i wasnt checking deviantart because i had exams. And yes, it does work in most of the consoles. Btw i dont recommend painting the buttons, in mine the paint ended up falling apart and now it looks really bad (sad thing is i cant open it to remove the paint because the screws are in really bad shape and i dont want to risk them)
