Description
Who first seduc'd them to that foul revolt?Th' infernal Serpent; he it was, whose guile
Stird up with Envy and Revenge, deceiv'd
The Mother of Mankind, what time his Pride
Had cast him out from Heav'n, with all his Host
Of Rebel Angels, by whose aid aspiring
To set himself in Glory above his Peers,
He trusted to have equal'd the most High,
If he oppos'd; and with ambitious aim
Against the Throne and Monarchy of God
Rais'd impious War in Heav'n and Battel proud
With vain attempt...
-John Milton, Paradise Lost book 1
This isn't the first time I've quoted Milton in my description and it won't be the last. But this is the first time I've just allowed his epic to be the catalyst for a piece. I set out to do an interpretation of Milton's war in heaven, minus the gunpowder, cannons and mountain tossing.
Normally I would list all of the stock shots I used but umm considering the fact that I used over 20 figure shots in this piece(I think the final number is something like 26, search for them!) then I'll just list the stock providers.
Because I had to have a nude angel with stragetically placed clouds.
I got the vast majority of the shots from Falln, otherwise the piece would have been nearly impossible to do in the manner I imagined it.
She's in there too and this piece is for her Surrealist contest
is not a stock artist but I did use her brushes. Her gallery of art is absolutely breathtaking and just makes me squishy. Wow did I just say squishy? I've been staring at this comp screen for far too long.
full view baby! full view!

I only flatter, where flatter is needed - sounds a bit strange doesn't it. In truth you are one of my favorite artists in your field (photomanipulation). Partly because of the work you put into each piece as well as the care for detail and composition - your figures fit well in the settings you choose...I could go on but don't want to give your ego too much of a boost.

usually when I see people 'GAH' I can't help but go 'HAG' but I wouldn't do that to you... mainly because calling a woman of your age a hag usually leads to violence against me... and also because you're squeezably soft... you're Charmin

let me go on, shall I...
I love how clear and precisely abstract this piece is, art of course, but almost looks like a piece of history. The texture looks burned almost and so much meaning...or lack therof, can be taken from this. Again, I love it :-P

Amazing creation, of truth of the dark, and the human battle to be delivered from the bondages that seem to burry us in the loss of salvation. Hope, by means of reaching to that light, beyond the darkness of sin. Amazing. wow.

Wow, I'm impressed. You've looked into the soul of the work and found a voice for it that's equal parts mine and your own.
That's so flattering to have someone do that. My ego is so huge right now.

The textures, the composition, the lighting, the balance & unity - everything is, to put it simply, wonderfully done. This is such a creative piece, I'm astounded how many different stock images you put in this. In many cases I've seen, when the artist combines all these different stock photos/brushes/textures together, the finished work seems cut & pasted together. Yours is very unified.
I also love how the arms, the faces, and the light draw your eye in to the middle of the piece. Great job! A definite
