Metroid other M is a fine game. I played it and finished it within one night. Short game indeed...I liked it, but I'm still not too happy with it. I guess it's not AS GOOD as I expected, for all this time I've been waiting for it.
Plus, Samus is becoming too much of a generic female character for my taste. Comon, where is Badass Samus ?
I would say Other M is fine, but not as good as the Prime Serie, especially the third one.
So, once again, I made a fanart of the game.
It represents Samus in different steps of her life, as she's standing up and starting to fight !
The third one from left is Samus as we see her in the flashback with Adam and Ian. My favorite, she looks more like I'd like her to look.
I designed a new Power Suit (again !), hope you like it this way. Its design changes in every single episode anyway...
I also imagined Samus as a child.

Okay, THAT is one of THE best Zero Suit designs I have ever seen. Seriously, why couldn't Other M's ZS Samus have looked like this?!

I actually very much liked her old military uniform and the Varia suit design in-game. Quite slick.

- Sylux in an idea of a Metroid film I came up with.
Yes. I actually came up with the idea of a possible Metroid film. I imagined Emma Stone as Samus Aran, Alan Rickman as the voice of Ridley, Jason Clarke as Adam Malkovich, Erin Gray as the voice of Mother Brain, Dane DeHaan as Sylux, Frank Welker as the voice of Kraid, Peter Cullen and Scarlett Johanson as Samus' parents Rodney and Virginia, and Ian McKellan as the voice of Old Bird. I imagine the soundtrack being composed by Brad Fiedel, who composed the music to "The Terminator", "True Lies", and "Terminator 2: Judgment Day". The theme would be sort of a remix of the Super Metroid/Other M theme, with most tracks having a series of synthesized percussion notes that represent Samus' heartbeat, with the notes being slow when it's a calm/slow build-up scene, and they get faster when it's a suspense moment or an action scene (i.e. Samus running in Galactic Federation Station 1024 during a Space Pirate infiltration being chased by a Space Pirate, then getting on her ship, but she can't leave because Adam won't authorize it, and she screams "Damn you, Adam!", or in the final battle, where Samus actually saves Sylux from being killed by Ridley, and screams, "Hey Ridley! So long, you bitch!!", and she shoots Ridley with some ray that kills the opponent, and it kills Ridley by causing him to disintegrate.) The film would probably be directed by James Cameron, and I really want it to use CGI and practical effects. And for the rating, it would probably be PG-13 for some of the violent scenes, the aforementioned language ("Damn you Adam", "So long, you bitch", "Adam is a dick"), some suggestive material (Samus' Zero Suit), and brief partial nudity (a scene where Samus walks out of a room wrapped in a towel, suggesting that she showered).

So? I've never played Other M, and in my Everybody Hates Luigi comic (not released yet), Ridley comes back from the dead and Samus becomes a self-questioning depressed bounty hunter. But still, this is me we're talking about. We're talking about the same guy who went on to troll whoever thought The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was a bad movie by saying you either think it's a good movie or you go f*ck yourself.

Great picture. Well, I only saw the cutscenes of the other M, andI only have prime hunters-DS. So, yeah. I think it's way cool. But I agree with you, Samus isn't exactly the girl I was expecting.
The only moment when I really saw her as I imagined, was in her flashback, trying to get Adam to save his brother.

I will have to agree with you. Not nearly as good as the Prime series, though I think they would be hard pressed to create something that matches or exceeds the Prime trilogy. Echoes was epic!! There are times I play it in the dark, just to really get the true feeling.

I must admit, I don't really know. I think it seemed more dynamic this way, as we see grownup Samus first, then revealing her whole history.

The game had its good points, but the bad were damn glaring. It felt like I was playing a rehashed Resident Evil, playing as Rebbecca Chambers. When they make Samus Aran sound like a goddamn rookie after she's gone through how much? When they have her completely freeze up after killing Ridley before on how many occasions? When they try to garner sympathy for a guy I've been looking for an excuse to kill, someone I've grown to hate more and more as the game progresses?!
If it wasn't Metroid, I could have enjoyed it because of the unique control style. If it wasn't Metroid, I could stand having a female character that didn't really feel like a hero. However, it was entitled Metroid, so I want to hunt whoever thought this was a good idea down..

I like this steps concept. I like your version of her younger outfits-- it's much different than how I thought they'd look like. Great job on all of the suits.

You should of put the Power Suit before the Varia. Zero Mission makes a big deal about when Samus gets the big ball shoulders. Plus Fusion suit should be in there to.
