yup, I've been just working 24/7. when i'm not busy at the paper I'm either writing or creating art for my book. First novel is written and I started the second. waiting for the editing to be done and for myself to finish the art. hopefully sometime this year I'll have the first one out to buy! Getting excited and scared at the same time!

That's so cool! Whenever I have free time I either use it to catch up on sleep or play video games. I need to get back into the art groove. Make sure to save a copy for me! I have your latest submission in another tab, I was gong to comment on it there, but I might as well do it here. I really like Dovian's hairstyle! I have a hard time doing hair like that. And I followed the Troy link; he looks a lot like this one actor that I can't remember the name of.

it took me years to really figure out dovian's look. if you look at all the past artworks he looks completely different! but i think this is the closest i've ever gotten to what I think I have in my head. It's so hard drawing your own characters because, like reading a book, you have a general idea but it's kind of like looking through foggy glass.

I actually didn't change him too much, he's always had the hair and beard... i just beefed him up, changed his clothing which was always something I wasn't certain about and my style has just changed a LOT over the last few years. It's a bit more realistic now.

yeah working on this one i developed an interesting way to match values. At first the face was much darker in shadow than the rest of the body so I messed with gradient overlays to match them up rather than just using the value, brightness/contrast scales. and it gave it a richer color too. always learning something new!
