"Why are you so angry? I have done nothing! Just matched my hair with the colour of the dress...", Lirelanta said with pretended indifference."You do know perfectly what exactly you have done", Sandina replied frostily. "As well as that you should not do that. How many times else must I tell you that you should not let people around you to learn about this ability of yours?!.."
"Oh Sandina, darling, please do not worry so much over such trifle!", Arryd interrupted in soft tone. "She is still only a child. You cannot make her understand everything like an adult right now..."
"...But she must understand, otherwise her carelessness will cost her life", Sandina answered in the same cold manner. "Besides she is no longer a child - she is already 14 years old!.."
"If you let me not to remind you of what you were like at this age!" Arryd remarked with smile. "Eventually she will understand", he went on. "But for now Lirelanta, dear", he addressed to his daughter "please trust us and try to follow the advice of your mother".
"All right, I shall", Lirelanta sighed. She concentrated her will in one effort and changed her hair colour back to its natural state of goldy blonde....

Just a quick something, inspired by one side remark in Eolewyn1010 's story Masquerade ball part 1 .
Here is Lirelanta with her parents. I think this scene might take place about six years before she came to Avalonne.
Probably their outfits may look a bit strange, but there is a custom in Ydnel to have at least one of your outfits reflecting the meaning of your name. Sandina's name literally means "sunny" so I tried to picture a kind of sun rays at her dress. And Arryd's name translates as "aquamarine" therefore the colour scheme and patterns of his garments.

Her mother is angry about her changing her hair colour. It's actually a long story.
You see, not everybody posessing the Gift has the same "amount" of it. Mind-reading is the only thing available for anyone, other abilities vary depending of the person. Somebody is also able to move things with one's will's effort, another can control own and other people' minds, someone is capable for clairvoyance. But there are some things that nobody is capable for. Nobody except of Reborn.
Lirelanta is not Reborn herself, but it so happened that she was given a bit of the powers (all the powers and abilities meant for one person were shared between few people, including Lirelanta who got the ability to change her appearance. That's what her parents worry about - with not being a true Reborn Lirelanta couldn't protect herself if the evil forces knew of her having any abilities above "normal" man...
