More speedpainting, yay. Not too happy with how it turned out. At all. It was kinda experimental, though, trying a couple new techniques, and trying to blend cartoon/anime with the minimalist painting style I'm developing. Why do the funny ones always wind up with way poorer quality art? Oh, well, for the time spent on it, it's not that horrendous. I guess. Maybe. Kinda. Sorta. Feh.

The main problem is I rushed through the face and mane, because I was getting bored.

UPDATE YAAAY: Decided to take 5 minutes to touch those up a bit. Still not great, but at least it's not... aggressively bad, anymore.

Sooo, anyway, these "ponies rocking out" pics are pretty trendy, too. Hell, I did one with Derpy already. So, just to keep from being a hipsterrrrrrr, I had to add in a weapons-grade pun. Seriously, puns this bad are banned under all of the Geneva Conventions and Hague Accords.

Okay, I actually had that pun rattling around in my head for awhile now, and haven't drawn this until now because... just because.

Also, god, the 80's were horrible.

Have some more trendy hipsterrrrrrr crap in the form of creation information, yaaay! (why's it also trendy to hate hipsters, anyway?)

Music listened to: Attempted Starship first (of course), then brain melted. Then tried Bad English, brain started leaking out ears. Then Journey, but I got kinda bored, honestly. Finally settled on Blue Oyster Cult, and their album Imaginos, since they released that in '88.

Tools and stuff used: 8x6 Wacom Intuos3, GIMP 2.6.11 with no custom brushes, 24 inch pipe wrench, .44 magnum Mateba Autorevolver, plushie alligator, old priest, young priest, piracetam, Serbu Super Shorty, plushie tiger, 3 kukris, and a tentacle monster.

Total time elapsed: 2.5 hours

This is why I never say how long a drawing took! Geeze. I'd guesstimate... 10 minutes for the sketch, 10 minutes to lay down flat colors and set up layers, and 20-30 minutes for the actual painting part.
