Hoo, boy... I am about to lose so many watchers with this one...

Sorry. I don't normally do vent pics. I try to keep my real-world junk and my art junk as separate as I can, because I want this to be a place of fun. An escape, if you will. But I just have to get this off my chest.

Being made slaves years ago, abused by the people who're supposed to protect us, not getting enough funding in our neighborhoods... even during the pandemic, we were being killed at a disproportionate rate.

All I have to ask is why? Why are African-Americans so despised by everyone? What did we do to deserve so much scorn? So much abuse?

Is it too much to ask to be guaranteed to have a decent life? Or be treated like a human being? Or even be able to walk in my own yard without fearing that this could end up being my last day on earth for no good reason?!

I hate living like this. I'm exhausted. I don't want to have to live with all this hanging over my head. I just want to live my life, but how can I do that when it feels like anything and everything I say or do could be the end of me all because of something I have literally no control over?!?!

(deep inhale, long sigh)

Once again, sorry to dump all that on ya'. I'll try to keep things lighthearted from now on. I might delete this later (or at least move it to the scraps). Who knows?
