I did this in my second year at art school. Four famous artists (Jackson Pollock, Rene Magritte, Vincent Van Gogh and Henri Matisse) painting the same scene in their own style. Artists don't paint what they see, they paint what they know. This is like a weird painters holiday. I only found out after I painted the figures that Magritte didn't really like Van Gogh's work. It turns out Magritte didn't like drunks either. Now he's got the alcoholic Jackson Pollock with him. And Van Gogh didn't get on with anybody.Related content

You could put Pollock in ANY landscape and his canvas would end up looking the same as it always does. I do not like Pollock. Van Gogh, on the other hand, is probably my favorite historical painter. And I'm not familiar enough with the other two to comment on their presence here.

That's really cool. Very original idea and you must have studied their styles quite closely. I'm not exactly a professional on artists, but it looks almost as though you've just copied summit they did and just happened to be of a similar scene

i love their relationships with each other- that is very interesting what you have come up with.
Especially the part about, they do not paint what they see, they paint what they know
I suppose that is true with any artist
I love seeing the different designs and aspects they take in their paintings, like i am seeing a window into their mind
