Yay! My first Comic of this year is complete and uploaded!

'Inspirations' is a bi-weekly comic that I have started and will be running through out 2010. It is called inspirations because of exactly that reason. Each individual comic will start as a 'stand alone' story which is inspired by Music, Quotes, People etc.
The general audience are also allowed to participate in this project! Contact me with what inspires you! Or what you think may inspire me. Also once a month each comic idea will be sent to a poll where the general public gets to vote what the next theme will be!

This first addition to Inspirations is inspired by the song and lyrics of 'Winter' By Tori Amos.
Tori Amos is a big inspiration to me, every time I feel down or disheartened listening to her music and her moving lyrics really inspires me and gives me a big old kick up the back side. Her music reflects so many life circumstances that most people relate to a lot of her lyrics.

I have always loved this song in particular, but I never really listened to the lyrics until much recently. I decided to look up and find the story behind it. Turns out Tori Amos as a young girl was very musically talented however she was also prone to being harsh and judgemental of herself. After finding this out I felt that this really reflected me as a person also. I am never happy with my work, and I always want to be so much better than I really am. However there is always many people behind me, very close to me who would say very similar things to what her dad said to her.
I have been very lucky to always have someone who loves me and everything I do always around me. When I was back in the UK it would be my family, my dad, my mum, my sister, my grandma all being ridiculously supportive of me and all my decisions. Now I am in Canada and so far away from them I now have my long term boyfriend, David, who also fills that roll.
Without them I don't know where I would be and I am so grateful for their support even though I can be a grumpy cow sometimes.
This short 2 page comic basically loosely represents that, and so therefore is a very personal piece to me as its a reflection of myself and what the people around me have done for me. Thank you.

Voting for the next comic has finished and the winning sentence is ''The Concrete Consequence Pales.'' This comics deadline is the 31st of January.
