I found this little moth under a street light while my husband and I were out for a walk in the early morning and it was still dark outside. It looks like maybe something attacked her. I released her in some trees after I got to know her even though she didn't want to leave my hand. I named her "Mothra" after the character known in the Godzilla movies which is modeled after this type of moth. My picture to me shows that even the smallest critters are beautiful when broken and trying to fly with broken wings.

This particular moth is a polyphemus moth and it belongs to the family of the largest species of moths, Saturniidae. It also doesn't eat.
