Just a small collection of brushes that should hopefully help you enhance your images.

A rundown:

The first two pictured are good for drawing in grass around feet, hooves, things connected to the ground, for short hair, etc.

The third is good for chunking in blocks of hair so you're not drawing them all in individually - one thing I've learned is hair flows in chunks, not in single strands. You'll have some renegade strands, I'll give you that, but by and large hair is in chunks and groups.

The fourth is good for mystical/magical/fantasy type pictures. You can up the size of the brush and fade the colored dots into the picture; one pic I used this technique on is Midnight Lullaby , to give a visual. Remember to pick the color you want the dots to rotate around... Just play with it. You'll see.

The fifth is just... Pretty much what it looks like. Dots, varying in color, opacity and size, though unlike the previous these will appear in the line you draw, not scattered. Neat for journal designs or more abstract art.

And the last... Who knows? I made it, don't have a specific use for it, but I though someone might like it.

Anyway, it's a rag-tag assortment that I put together last night, but maybe someone out there will like it.

Made with Adobe CS2. Sorry - no image pack. It wouldn't do much good as all the brushes are saved with different dynamics.

Cool brushes, when I upgrade I know just where to go, that way no one tells me where to go

I'd send you the upgrade if I could, and not so you could try the brushes. Just because you deserve it.

Not yet, but I think you just gave me the kick in the rear that I needed to finally get at least a simple one done.

Wait for change?

No terms with the brushes. Linking back is aways a plus, but more than anything I just made them because I thought someone would be able to use and enjoy them.

Times like this it makes me wish i had cs 2!! Ahh welll .. I'm off to create my own!!!

If you dont mind me asking, what dynamics do you use for painting, generally?

arrsistable In reply to pinkers-le-lemonade [2007-10-17 13:18:53 +0000 UTC]

I'm sorry! I wish I had a way to convert them.

I use a few different, though generally I use Shape Dynamics -> Size Jitter -> Pen Pressure, and Other Dynamics -> Opacity Jitter -> Pen Pressure for most of it; the first to make a line bigger or smaller by the pressure I use with the pen, and the second to make it lighter or darker with the pressure.

Unless, of course, you were talking about the dynamics involved to make those brushes. If so, its a whole combination of Color Dynamics, Scattering, Smoothing, etc. Each are different.

These are just great. I'm downloading, and will definitely use them. <3 Your mane brushes were amazing, and, not even gonna lie, I'm pretty pumped for these, too. Thanks so much for the resources!

But of course! I actually enjoy making brushes like the mane/tail and these. Here's hoping they work out well for you, and I'm very glad to hear that you liked the others. I was worried on how they'd work out.

They worked out scrumptiously! And thanks again for making both those and these- I have a feeling they're going to be fun!
