Description
In these lands, everything was hard. Food was scarce, mates were unfaithful, and battles were fought when opponents weren't even sure what had caused it.. All they knew is they had to win, and earn the one thing that was hardest of all to come by: Respect.

Equines were becoming a dying breed. The horned and winged breeds both had recognized early on they must produce rapidly to prevail, for while it took longer for them to mature and grow into their potentials than their plain counterparts, they lived longer. Much longer; seemingly in the space of a handful of breaths of the horned and winged breeds, the plain breeds were born, lived and died. They procreated, all of them, and as the land seemed to shrink and wither under such blooming numbers, the fighting began to grow more fierce. What would have once been an argument that was left alone turned into bloody rivalries, and the earth below whole and cloven hooves churned a muddy-red.

The equines were losing the battle.

Been a long time since I've done a pic like this just to do it. ^^ It was nice and tedious all at the same time. Trying to figure out what to do out of my own imagination is hard work, I tell you! I'm used to having directions to follow.
