After working on this picture on and off for months, it's finally over. Finally. Yay!

How much of this was drawn as opposed to being manipulated?

All the markings were drawn - stripe at the withers, zebra markings, appy ass, facial markings including the black around the eye, the eye itself and the muzzle. Mane and tail were painted, shadow, enhancements in the bg which mainly consist of highlighting colors, and shadows. There's blue highlight on the horse as well to help blend him in, and the ears were touched up with black to help them blend. Feathers on the horses feet, highlights and shadows along the hooves and legs, and the jagged black ending points on the back legs.
There's more, but it's all frivolous. All in all, there was less painting on this image as there have been on others in my gallery.

I adore the feathers. Those look excellent. The gold just looks lovely.
The layers of this are really nice: the background is really pretty.
The only thing that bothers me is how the forelegs look a big short and that darn moon is so big! It kind of distracts from the incredible character you melded together.
