Description
It fits that the Setsunian race would have a blacksmith god, so that's what this thing is. Their whole MO is that they make powerful weapons then they send them flying across the universe for various people to collect. It never eats, it never sleeps, and it never speaks; it only forges. Some time ago, I drew a picture of the Final Ars Astra Universe (it's my current background image). The big purple sphere in the center is a pocket dimension called "The Seat of the Cosmos"; It's where most of the god characters hang out. This thing lives there.I seriously struggled to come up with their name. The Arrenguardia Gods usually have two names, a serious one and a cute one (i.e. The Singularity Devil, "Singi"). I was gonna call them Forgie, but I can't settle on how to spell that. Forgie, Forgeie, Forgy, Forgey, Forgi?. When you look at those, they look like they'd read "for-gay" or for-gee, but I wanted it to be read like FOUR-geeeee. In the end though, I think the cutesy names should just be an Arrenguardia thing. Arrenguardia gods are very friendly and talkative for the most part, so it makes sense that they'd have little pet names; Setsunian gods don't really do that so much, so were just going to call them "The Eternal Blacksmith" or "The Blacksmith"
As for their origin story, I had 3 in mind, and couldn't decide on which one to go with. Ultimately I decided to do like Elder Scrolls and go with all 3. Not answering every mystery can help to create an interesting story, but I do hate it when writers leave too much unanswered...
Story 1. They are actually a sword that belonged to Cetaka. In the Final Ars Astra, inanimate objects can gain pseudo souls if you imprint one on them. For example, at my job, I have this adjustable wrench that I named "Lady Leverage". I also imagined a personality for it, I talk to it often (I open and close the mouth of it so it can talk back to me), I've written my name on it, decorated it with a permanent marker and held onto it for 14 years. In final Ars Astra, an object treated this way will gain a soul. In Japan, they've got these yokai called tsukumogami that follow a similar concept, a household tool that gains a soul after being used for 100 years. So it's Cetaka's 1st sword, her most favorite object, that gained a soul and came to life after she loved it for millions of years.
Story 2. At some point the Setsunian's on a certian planet learned about the automation process from the Forgelings, and built a factory (or perhaps giant android) that created weapons. The Setsunians liked this factory so much that they collectively granted it a soul without knowing it. Cetaka noticed this, and thought that it was a shame that something with such a prominent soul was limited to just being a factory. She then granted it a body that it could exert a bit more control and freedom over, but it turned out to be perfectly happy forging weapons over and over. Setsunians who subscribe to the robot origin story refer to it as "4G" (clever!).
Story 3. It's the result of a special afterlife that awaits blacksmiths; after death, their knowledge remains and gets consolidated into this being. Blacksmiths all over the universe work towards creating powerful weapons that would grant them the chance to become an eternal part of this being. I need this to be a desirable afterlife for some reason, so I figured these are the reasons that people strive to be a part of it. 1st, being a part of it feels like someone is gently scratching your back, which is one of the best feelings ever. 2nd, you technically die and become a god, so that's cool 3rd, Cetaka changes clothes in front of it sometimes?
Last little details about it:
-It's hammer and anvil are made from black hole matter.
-It has to shrink down the weapons it makes, because they are initially too big.
-It grabs a fist full of that purple stuff it's standing on to make weapons.
-Ars Astra and Cetaka have made several unsuccessful attempts to bring it out of its shell.
