Description
Photographer: Carpe Diem Jen & Karin FotoWERKstattLocation: Festung Grauer Ort
This picture was shot in longterm exposure.
With this special technique you are able to play with multiple lighting options in one single shot.
The exposure on this one was something around 12 minutes I believe.
The downside is that you have to stay still for the whole time.
But as this is basically impossible (unless you are a royal guard), you get interesting artefacts like transparencies or in my case a seven-fingered right hand...
Still it was quite a unique experience with a unique result.

Hi there,
great that you are around on deviantart as well.
Thank you and of course Jens for this marvelous picture!
Though the shooting was somewhat strenuous, due to the rapidly falling temperatures of the location after a very hot day, the result was nonetheless a pleasure.

Thank you very much.
Jep, had to adjust to it as well, but if you come to think about it, seven fingers can be quite helpful in our crafting (especially with the tiddly-fiddly small parts I always have to battle with..), especially with two thumbs!

Though it needs a bit of practice first.
I can't count the number of occassions I had to sort the twisted fingers back again into a useful arrangement instead of a gordic knot....
But I'm slowly getting the hang of it and I'm certain that I will produce amazing contraptions in the future with its help, if not even world domination.... muahahahahaaa....
... oh gosh, it's getting obviously too late again... don't pay any attention to what I'm saying.... beyond tired there lays the realm of strange stupid behaviour... oh look! Flying candy canes....
oh, dear....

Oh, you know the flying-candy-cane-phase as well?
That's a relief. I was already afraid, that you might call those friendly guys with that strange white jacket, to pick me up, taking me to that funny big house, where all the doors are obviously broken, as they won't open...

Thanks a lot.
At least it was worth it standing still for about an hour in the dark and cold.
