Description

The town tune rung out across Lilypad, marking the time - 11am on the dot. Light snow was falling, coming to rest on Dusty's windowsill. She'd woken up bright and early today, because today was special. The moment she was out of bed, she'd jumped into her housecleaning clothes - a well-worn apron hand-me-down. She was ready to go!
Not long after the town hall bell stopped chiming, a different sound chirped through Dusty's house. The doorbell, she exclaimed under her breath. She skipped over to the front door, only to stop abruptly and look to her feet.

My first visitor...

Her face flushed, both with embarrassment and excitement. How had it taken her this long to invite someone over? Her she was, moving to a new town to conquer her fears, only to stay cooped up in blankets watching re-runs of her favourite TV shows alone while her boxes gathered dust...
But now wasn't the time to feel sorry for herself. She looked up and flashed an anticipating smirk before opening the door.

"Hello, dear!"
A friendly voice and welcoming expression greeted Dusty, and she immediately felt all warm and fuzzy.

"H-Hello Anita! Welcome to my, uh... Humble abode... beep."
Dusty chirruped back, still a little shy.

Anita beamed a very neighborly smile at Dusty and collapsed her umbrella, caring to dump the snow on the grass and not all over the entrance.

Feeling a rush of accomplishment, Dusty invited her in and offered her a blue tartan headscarf.

"Did you bring an apron, beep? Sorry I only have one in my size..."

"Oh my, thank you! That's okay dear, don't you worry about me. I brought an apron,"

Anita reached into her neat-looking handbag adorned with beautiful embroidery, took out an apron...

"As well as some other things for later, to motivate you."

And a batch of delicious-smelling cookies.

3 hours and a lot of work later, Anita paused for a small break, watching as Dusty carried boxes to and fro. She smiled proudly, leaning a mop she thought was sturdy. The mop fell onto a pile of Dusty's clothing.

After staring at the mop and then doubling back to Dusty, Anita had an amusing little realisation.

I really wanted to finish this into a proper fully coloured and shaded comic and add more details but I have so much stuff to do and it's 11pm on a school night ;w; I'm happy with this little sketchy comic and the attached story though. I need to catch up on the Love Bug Fever event! Sorry for the elementary school-level writing, I'm sick at the moment and I can't write or draw very well ;w;
