Description
# Surreal © Emmanuel Knibbe 2007[ I want to precize that there's absolutely no manipulation on this photo.]
One day this dried rose has fallen on this old pic and inspired me this.
The rose symbolise the heart, that's why i've put it on the brain. Especially because in the Surreal movement the creations were ruled by heart and passion rather than the reason .
Then i add the needles, one on the head, and one in the eye.
It remembers me the quote : "Breton call them to close their eyes and speak their dreams".
It's also a tribute to Bunuel with his famous pic with the razor in the eye.
... In the background, André Breton
(french Poet, leader of the Literary & Artistic Movement :
" Le Surréalisme" create in Paris, in the years 1920.)
The works they present feature the element of surprise, unexpected juxtapositions and non sequitur.)
Influenced by Freudianism and dedicated to the expression of imagination as revealed in dreams, free of the conscious control of reason and free of convention.
André Breton was explicit in his assertion that Surrealism was above all a revolutionary movement.
( Many of its adherents had belonged to the Dada movement. )
André Breton, Philippe Soupault, Robert Desnos, Antonin Artaud, Louis Aragon, Paul Eluard, Jean Cocteau, Man Ray, André Masson, René Magritte, Max Ernst, Salvador Dali, Joan Miro, Luis Bunuel,....

I really like this. The title is a perfect summary for this piece, with its dreamlike atmosphere. It's also interesting what you did with the needles because it adds an eerie aspect to it. As for the photo quality, it's a bit fuzzy but it fits in a way. The way that the rose is placed over the face brings about an aura of mystery, and I didn't notice it wasn't in the original photo until I read the description.
This is very creative and I'm excited to check out your other artwork. This was made years ago but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to let you know how great this is.

Photography is not really my thing but wen i saw this alot happened and then i had alot i wanted to say. Im gonna tell u wat i think and how i feel so dont be to mad. First off wen i saw it on the bottom with the daily deviants it instantly caught my attention for some reason and i just clicked on it right away. I looked at it for a good minute trying to figure out wat this is supposed to mean and i couldnt so i go to read ur caption and i still dont rly get it. I think its fail wen an artist has to explain there work with words so i always try to figure out wats going on before i read nything. Now i love my history but i have no idea who this guy is and theres really no chance anybodys gonna know since u have his face covered. And how u said the rose symbolizes heart witch is why u put it on the brain are both stupid honestly. The part i did love about ur caption is the part about the rose falling on the picture. That made me smile wen i read it, but back to the picture. The picture is just awesome and i just love it, it makes no sense it all but its still awesome and a picture that pulls that off deserves some respect. I have no idea why i love it, i just do, but to me thats the best kind of art. I mean no disrespect its just a critique and i believe people want to hear wat i actually think and not be buttered up. Awesome photo man.

Start working at home with Google. It’s the most-financially rewarding I've ever done. On tuesday I got a gorgeous BMW after having earned $8699 this last month. I actually started five months/ago and practically straight away was bringin in at least $96, per-hour....…….....HEAR>>www.GeoSalary.com
