Description This is a sketch I did a couple of years ago; my job had to close early so I visited my favourite small park in Dublin, the Iveagh Gardens, and did something I'm always encouraging my students to do, but rarely do myself...draw live.

LOVE this Drawing Martin, i especially like the way you've drawn the leaves, I think their free, quick & just enough to show their their & structure to show what they are...and nice to see you practise what your preach oh i mean Teach

P.S. how long approx did it take you to Draw???

Hi, Leon.
I don't practise what I preach, enough...I'm not drawing a lot right now, partly as I've been having a problem with my left eye, so my depth perception is somewhat fucked, and I've lost about 30/40%of the sight in it. Hopefully, it's temporary, I'm getting some treatment for the problem, but it's a pain in the ass, to put it mildly.

Re the drawing, I snuck off from work on a lovely warm summer's day the year before you joined the project (don't tell anyone), went into the Iveagh Gardens in Harcourt Street (my favourite city park), and drew this, it took me about half-an-hour. Glad you like the leaves; remember...less is more.

You take care, and keep working. Also please let us know if you're going to have any work in your college end-of -year, as I'd love to come and see what you've been up to (if you don't mind).
