Quite morbid but a very well put together shot. I love that you can see all of the tiny details... the cracks in the beak, every matted feather.

Very! I've tried cleaning two bird skulls and a rabbit skull... unfortunately I squished the first bird skull. Bleach and soapy water seemed to work fairly well on the others though!

Sorry spazzy. I almost didn't take the shot, but then I kept thinking and thought many philisophical ideas I couldn't type out if I wanted to and ended up taking the shot anyways. I'm glad I did; the grackle would have just rotted out of exsistence without a word otherwise

I know, it is horrible. I thought it was an owl pellet when I first saw it, and I went to investigate (because we don't normally get owls around here, despite the abundant rodent population), and then i realized it had a beak. Heh, very surreal if you know what I mean; head of bird whose body I can't find sitting in the middle of the road. Not really something you see everyday

I know. We have a rampant population of ferral cats around here and the birds are paying the price; even the bigger ones, I mean, this was a bloody grackle for goodness sake!
