Description I wanted to work on painting some original characters again but then I realized I already had some decent ones started--it's just a couple years ago I didn't really know how to push them farther so I just called them "finished sketches" and left them alone.

So this is me revisiting an old piece for fun...


Not saying it's super-polished or anything now (couldn't really find any good clothes references for what I wanted ) but I thought it made for an interesting contrast. ^^

Well usually what I do with portraits is take several different references and sort of mash them together onto my own character sketch... so they may turn out looking like a few different people and no one! xD It's usually the lighting or coloring from one picture, the angle/proportions from another, and maybe a few facial features from various celebrities or anyone I can find a high-enough-res image of that fits my character concept.

I just don't remember for this one specifically, since I was just refurbishing a much older picture... but I guess the short answer is, "kinda." xD

inorite?? xD the original one is a pretty good example of how all my pieces look during the first couple hours... these days it's just a matter of piling on the extra time/attention before I get bored and wander away. x3

I feel like I'm learning so much lately! I finally started painting clothes, and sorta backgrounds... I think it's time for the next step! Which is actual backgrounds, maybe.

Anyway. Delicious work on the beard! I love it how you made it all unkept, but so sexy. The neck-area looks a little unpolished still but to me the clothing with the shoulder-pad and strap and all look good!

thanks!! I will try and tidy up his neck, it does kind of stand out.

and he's not a D&D ranger or anything, so he's really not that great with animals... but he would still enjoy a good leg humping. ;D

hehehe...I mostly used the Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan for reference, so any other resemblance is uninentional or perhaps subconscious. ^__^
