Again, another sweet scene! Impressing shadings on this one! Your family is lucky to have such an artist to capture this kind of moment

That's so sweet. I love the detail in this, and the general playful and happy mood. Nice job.

Thanks, I haven't done many from old photos. I wanted to get the pose and the feel without copying the setting too closely. I also decided to change his shirt to one with larger looser detail.

Thanks. She is the only one smiling, well he does have a tiny grin (his chin is stuffed down against his chest, afterall) at the corner of his mouth.

I really wouldn't expect you or anyone else, too. I could spot that little crook in the corner of the mouth because I knew him so well, but with the mustache and beard it didn't show up much. The rest of the scene I altered and changed as I felt necessary. The pose and their faces I kept too as closely as possible.

Not ALL of them. My house is only 1500 sq ft.!! Almost everything hanging is mine. I have a few decorator plates that I've collected up, a print from another artist and some photos. I have 24 drawings and paintings hanging right now.....I checked to see, silly me

Cool!! More, more, more, more, more new art from GS!!
So, is it safe to say that you got all the bugs out of your scanner, lol!! Graphite is my favorite of all your work, but that may just be because I love monochrome!
Fathers and daughters! Being the former and having the latter, I need say no more!! Another perfect capture in a "slice of life." I love the way that you have built the texture up on his shirt and socks! The composition works very well, also, with her in motion against his relatively static pose.
I enjoy viewing older images, in that it gives a good reference point on the progression of the artist! Keep up the great work!

Thanks, that's why, one of the whys I decided to add some stuff that was so old, to just show a more rounded view of me.
Even though, like wolf02 pointed out some of them aren't as good as my newer stuff. (I hope that didn't sound pompous because I didn't mean it that way. I couldn't think of any other way to say it)
I seem to have done several with a long narrow composition too, without really consciously being aware of it.
Please feel free to tell me any time you think a comp doesn't work and where you think it's off.

The fact that wolf02 commented on the proficientcy of the your later work just attests to the fact that you are moving in the right direction, lol!! I would hate to think that the best work I did was ten years ago, eh?

THAT would be extremely depressing!!!! It's good to know that artist keep maturing, developing and growing their entire lives. I would hate to be an athlete that only had a few good years to do what they love

They sure look like they're having a good time! The feeling of motion is realistic, the proportions are good, and so are the facial expressions. Great shading as always!

Thanks I had trouble with it all because it was from such a 'tiny' photograph. ( I was getting regular 3x5's at the time) Don't know why I didn't get it enlarged!!?
