Eimi Ishida is half Japanese and American. She is the cousin of both Yamato and Takeru from their fathers side. She grew up in America and meets the Digidestined on a summer vacation trip, when her family came to visit Japan.

Eimi is a bit socially awkward but she appears to care little for what others think. Her way of thinking is noted as both flexible and a bit illogical. She preforms most actions with little thought. She is for the most part strange, but kind to her friends. Eimi later develops feelings for her Cousin Yamato's best friend, Taichi Yagami and openly expresses her feelings toward him.
