It's been about two weeks since I last uploaded, so I thought I'd post something special.

I've compiled several of my "background practice" drawings. There are MANY many more, but these are a few of my favorites. The ones with cleaner outlines are the ones I consider most finished.

The look I'm going for is mainly a mixture of "art deco poster/mural" and "mid-century modern cartoon background."

I'm trying to perfect my process for drawing backgrounds, though there are a few questions I still need to answer such as:

- How do I make dark scenes look dark enough without losing too much detail?

- What is a quick method to lower the contrast between my colors and outline colors so the outlines are visible without becoming distracting?

I think I'm getting closer to finding the solutions I need, but if anyone knows of a method or tutorial that could help me, I'd really appreciate it!
