William leaned over the crib with the 5 month old Ed, who was chewing on a teething ring.
"Hey, Buddy, guess what?" William asked, little Ed just gurgled up at him.
"No, it's not that." William joked, pretending he understood Ed. "I got you something, ya wanna see?"
Baby Ed got excited, kicking his legs and pulling the teething ring out of his mouth.
"I don't know..." William said with a thoughtful look. "I mean, if you really, really wanna know."
Ed let out a high-pitched schreech of excitement, and bugled his eyes up at his older brother.
"Well, you make a compelling case," William grinned and pulled up a stuff toy from behind his back. A lime green gecko. "Well, what'cha think?"
Ed clapped his hands, and kicked his chubby legs wildly, and made panting noises like he was trying to run to the stuffed toy.
"Oh, you like it?" William grinned happily. "Well, what about this."
He made sure the toy wasn't too close, and squeezed it. And the gecko's tongue stuck out, and Ed's eyes widened as he let loose more happy noises.
"Glad you love it, Buddy." William said as he gave the toy to Ed.
Ed hugged the toy tightly, and chew on it with a gurgle of happiness.

"I have to visit my dear, sweet, dimwitted, goes and gets himself badly injured in labrotory with killer suits of armor, brother at the hospital." William grinned as he pulls out stuffed toy. "Cause, he can't sleep without Mr. Lime!"

"Hey, Edward, I brought your fave stuffed toy, since I know you can't sleep without cuddling him." William cried out as he barged into the room.
Ed falls over, blood pouring from his torn stitches.
"Aw, what fresh hell is this!?" William exclaimed.
(When Ed is fixed up.)
"I can't believe you showed him to the Colonel!" Ed fumed.
"So....should I toss him, or donate him to a orphanage..." William asked.
"NO!" Ed clears throat, and takes Mr. Lime from Will. "I'll...just keep him here, so if Al wants something to snuggle."
"Suuure. Al."

Mr. Lime, cause of it's color, is Ed's cherished stuffed toy. It's the first gift Will got Ed.

Though I suspect he doesn't sleep with it like he did as a kid anymore. He probably either puts it under his pillow or keeps it in his suit case for "good luck".
Imagine team mustang's reaction if they saw it.

"It means a lot that you keep it," Will said as he sat next to his little brother on the hospital bed.
"Of course I did." Ed looks at him softly. "Your my big brother, and I love you....you've always been there for me. And when...when mom...I think me and Al would've been worse off if you hadn't been there. You could've run off and ditched us, but you stayed and took care of us."
"Of course I did..." hugs Ed close, and bury his face in Eds hair to hide tears. "Your stuck with me for the rest of your life, pipsqueak."
