First off, I'd like to say that I have never learned the "proper" way to embroider, I tend to just treat it like drawing with thread, so these patterns probably don't resemble actual embroidery patterns at all. That said, I'm so excited to actually make these! I drew them in my sketchbook initially, then transferred them to tracing paper and colored with Staedtler liners. The line directions are sort of generally for stitch direction, though it occurred to me after I drew it that embroidery stitches don't curve like that (duh). So basically, these will probably be subject to some change.ANYWAY, the embroidery idea came about because I wanted to make one of these, but I didn't want it to be boring. [link]
If you know me irl, you know how I decorate everything. It's a compulsion, I'm sorry. Anyway, I'll post the finals when they're finished!

I can't sew\embroider (spelling?) to save my life, but I'll love to see them finished!
I've seen some pretty awesome works of this kind (mostly because over here we have a long tradition of embroidery, herp.) and one featuring Daft Punk would make all of my jizz belong to you.

Sweet, I'll definitely be uploading that once it's finished then. I'll be working on it over the next week so it won't be right away. But yeah, I've embroidered a few things in the past, but it was with super skinny sewing thread, not proper thick thread, so I'm excited to get working on it!

Thank you, that's really sweet! What can I say, if there isn't a little derp in the world then it's a world not worth living in. That goes for slash too, especially with cute robots.
The thicker thread does require needles with a larger hole, but I have a whole lot in my sewing kit, so I should be fine. Even if it's not I can just run to the fabric store again and grab the right kind, so no worries!
