Description
Not a good quality image, but I was happy with this when I made it some years ago. Mostly cloth. There is a 'book' with images and text attached to the chest of the figureRelated content

Thanks! Mostly they are small, because I live in Tasmania & sell a lot of work in the US, so postage costs become an issue. However, I do like to work on a small scale. This piece is about 35 cms as it sits on its base, as I recall. The biggest thing I have done is a 3X life-size half-buried figure in ferro-cement. It is outside a tourist complex south of Hobart, and as far as I know, it is still in one piece!
Welcome back, by the way, from someone who recently "found" this place.

This is most beautious and is truly elevating doll art beyond toy.

This is really interesting piece. It has the quality of a painting almost. I love the surreal feel of it.

I'm glad you noticed that - probably what happens when a painter becomes a sculptor!

Yep! I was a painter long before I ever picked up the clay..... This is beautiful though in that other world effect. And it tells a story which I love.

I'm glad you like the piece - a pity that it is no longer in my possession, because I'd like to take better pictures of it with my updated camera! Strictly speaking, I was probably painter and sculptor simultaneously, since I majored in them both at Art School, but post-Art School I painted exclusively for a number of years mostly because of convenience (small children etc). Always been more drawn to the three-dimensional, though.
PS How DO you get things like stamps into your journal? - I can't find any guidelines for doing stuff like that.

I actually like the picture the way it is. It has a patternly effect. I was a painter first with some formal training and just sort of fell into the sculpting. I painted portraits.. mostly women and oddly dogs and cats!
There are actually a couple of different ways to get the stamps in your journal. Let me send you a note tomorrow on how to do it. It's pretty easy but I left my cheat notes at work.
I don't know how to get the little emotions in notes! How do you do that? LOL
