Drawn for a contest on Our--BraveBecause my current headcanon is that Jack would have still fallen through the ice and ended up a spirit whose visibility counted on belief. Except the ice would be the Hogwarts Lake.
So through the years he'd be watching generations of students, only able to make them smile with the snow out their windows. That is until a group of three students look up to the battlements to see someone there making the snow...

I used SAI, mostly the airbrush tool with some of the brush tool for the base of the mountains.

Nice. I believe there are two RotG/HP crossovers of the same vane, only he did drown in Burgess and in one fic Hermione sees him, another, Luna does. Great idea, should be a fic.

*squeals* I just recently got into this fandom,and I love this so much! I do agree with Hiccup being in Ravenclaw,because he's so smart,and Rupunzel in Hufflepuff,because she cares for people so much.

I like the painting style and the meshing of canons! I've never seen the Jack's still a spirit idea in the Hogwarts AU before - very nicely done.
I also appreciate the placement of Hiccup in Ravenclaw and Rapunzel in Hufflepuff.

I'm a big fan of Jack's backstory so I try to incorporate it whenever possible. It's even helpful for dressing up as the Big Four- don't have a fourth? Say Jack's here but you need to believe!
I think most people are simply going the Rupunzel/Luna route forgetting Luna was more of an exception than the general Ravenclaw; Rupunzel is ruled by her heart and loyalty, Hiccup's a little too selfish and disloyal to the Vikings (for good reason) in my mind to be a Hufflepuff.
Besides in my headcanon all the Vikings are Gryffindor, so it doesn't matter what house Hiccup belongs to, he's a disappointment unless he's a Gryffindor.

I hadn't thought they might be going with a 'Luna' angle. Huh. It's possible. And I agree with you on both points, adding that Hiccup's the cleverpants of the group, the inventor and engineer. He theorizes, he builds, he tests, he troubleshoots and theorizes again. How is that not a very Ravenclaw trait?
My headcanon splits the Viking kids up a bit (Fishlegs seems like a Ravenclaw of the book-smart, factoid variety to me), but keeps the concept that Gryffindor is their preferred, prized house, with Stoick as the Head of Gryffindor and everything. As I see it, they're also the rare Gryffindors who might actually appreciate Slytherins and Ravenclaws slightly better than Hufflepuffs in a barely-edges-out-the-other mental hierarchy, due largely to the (untrue and unfounded) stereotype that Hufflepuffs are weak, cowardly, useless, nothing-special-about-them pushovers. Snotlout will have spent their childhood teasing Hiccup mercilessly about how likely he is to be in Hufflepuff. After that, even Ravenclaw would be a relief of sorts, even if it's not as good as Gryffindor.
