Fanart for "Fantastic Mr Fox." I love this movie. I knew I'd love it from the previews. I saw it some time ago but just the other day I found it at the store on sale ($5 ) and couldn't pass it up. My little sister wanted to watch it today and I drew this over the course of the day when I had free time. I didn't actually like it originally, thought it looked nothing like him, but my sister came over and asked if that "was the fox from the movie." I figured if a three-year-old could see it then there must be something there ;D so I finished it up. I'm quite glad I did.

Unlike most of my work, this is 100% digital, no paper sketching involved and it came out surprisingly well for it. I had originally inked it as I usually do but in doing so it lost all of the expression and life it had in the sketch (I find this a common problem with my art, I love my sketches but I find they seem lifeless when I ink them...) so I scrapped the lineart and just cleaned up the sketchlines. So yeah its rough, but rough in the right way. Now the style of the movie is very difficult to do in 2D without looking cluttered (since the movie is high-textured puppets) but I tried. Overall, not bad. I think it came out fairly well all things considered

He's meant to be doing his little trademark thing. The whistle with the clicking sound but obviously I can't draw sound. I think I may've gotten the hand motion wrong but its hard to tell, since its a motion and not a gesture...the movie was on while I drew this so I went off that.
