Description
This is a quarter section taken from a larger piece I'm working on now that's about 3456 x 1728 pixels. Juggling all the layers right now is a REAL circus!Related content

that is simply beautiful, as is most of your gallery.May I ask (..a serious "newbie" at artwork...) as to the reason for such a huge original you mention in the artists comments above?? That would be a treat to see for real thats for sure!!
Absolutely wonderful- straight to Desktop!!!!

hi, thanks a bunch, - well I often make, or build a piece very large so I can use it for 'print' which requires a "dpi" of 200-300 at least on your working inches. When you're in photoshop in go to top menu, choose Image> Image Size> in pop-up window you will find "Document Size:" there you see the hxw and "Resolution:" (or dpi,- dots/pixels per inch as it's called) - If you make a postcard for print, the width will be 6" and the height will be 4" and the Resolution should be at least 300 pixels/inch - (so printers require more or less, you have to ask) . . .
so to answer your question, whoops, sorry for the long wind, *cough, the image above was a section at 100% of a 200 or not sure 300 dpi image, that's what I saw on my monitor. It's way too big to view on a 22" diagonal screen at 100% - now, go to the Apple store, you have to see those new Apple 30" flat panel LCD screens - you just might be able to see the whole in one - I've been drooling!

Hi arterie,
thanks for the reply! Yep, after sitting there pondering on it I figured it must be something to do with print and your reply has cleared up a no. of things so a Big Thankyou for that!!
A 30" lcd??!! - oh what things dreams are!!! That would just be the end of me!! I can`t stand small monitors!!
Using a 21" CRT which is dying a long slow death as I`ve had it a number of years and the thought of ever getting an equivalent lcd makes me drool!!!! 30"!! Thats pure heaven-on-earth!!
Beautiful work arterie-everything!! And your gallery is so varied too!! I noticed Jark left his mark too!! I`ll bet he does`nt do that too often so your art MUST be considered very special!!!!

hi, I'm going to be in the market for a new monitor early next year I think, the LaCie I have is almost 5 yrs old now and it still seems like new, but shaky at times. The LCD monitors are coming on their own now. I've been a die-hard CRT only person for quite some time, - but if you see the latest live in the store, they're much better than even last year, (I'm only talking about the Apple monitors) - might just have to make the switch.
$jark is an old friend online, I've been here since almost the start and he's commented on my work often in the past, He's the best here and his voice to me the essence of deviantART. Yay Scott!!!

...one of the all time jaw-droppers.
...those stones virtually define smooth ...and the way they're suspended there, against that surreal landscape of flowing form ...unreal.
This is a complete work in my mind, but I always wondered if the entire image you mentioned materialized.

Whoa Rick. I love this one! The shifty colors are stunning. The edges are so crisp, and the shapes so soft. It's funny... all of your works in this 'style' have a sort of classical appealβbut, this one seems to have soaked in a techno bath! (...which I think is a great thing.)

Photoshop work? I can't really tell if this is 3D work or 2D work, which is a good thing if it's 2D, cause it means you have excelent skill. I like the colors, and the smoothness. Keep up the good work.
