It's been about 10 or so years since I drew this particular character of mine, and I heard a song recently that basically forced me to revisit him (the toy box by stupendium if you're curious lol)

Quinn is probably one of my favorite gijinla characters, but looking back at my initial designs for him, I don't think I was able to do him much justice. Having finished this redesign, I'm much more confident that he looks the way I've sort of always wanted him to look. Pictured above is him performing a routine for a contest! Probably in the cute category lol

Banette as a pokemon always gave me some minor clown/harlequinn/jester vibes, and so with this redesign I really wanted to drive that idea while also keeping him recognizable as a banette. I'm really happy with the end result!

Quinn is a lv 93 Banette born long ago in the depths of an old abandoned toy store. Having lost the chance to be claimed by children and played with, the collective misery and desolation from all the abandoned toys coagulated together, forming to bring Quinn to life. Despite his origins, quinn almost always retains a playful yet eloquent persona. While he does travel with some great companions, He is also actively seeking out the individual who closed it down, for reasons he doesn't share with anyone.

Quinn is a joker of sorts by trade, and loves to entertain where he can. He enjoys putting on impromptu shows for nearby children, who never get tired of his magic tricks or feats of athleticism. He especially loves contests, as they grant him the ability to treat entire showrooms as a one mon circus either to excite or terrify his audience with his ghost-type shenanigans.

While he loves to entertain, Quinn is also incredibly vicious and cruel in the heat of battle. Preferring moves like toxic and curse, Quinn quite enjoys forcing his opponents to suffer. Quinn always attempts to allow opponents a chance to rescind their challenge; but for a few people, Quinn has seldom lost, and most who face him are never in a state to be able to battle again.

While he does constantly give off a subtle vibe of terror, Quinn gets along with most anyone, and is always kind until given a reason to be otherwise, and while he intends to confront the one who shut down the toy store where he was born, he won't fight anyone else until given a reason, or given no choice.

He cares for his traveling companions deeply, and is a constant source of encouragement and entertainment for them.
