I strongly believe that this is the most inspirational deviation that I ever submitted. So print it out and hang it on your wall and scream "I can do it too!"
Left: When I was 15 years old.
Right: More than 2 decades later.

Welp, this is rather discouraging rather than motivational :/
Makes me see it will take me too long to draw even /decently/ and perhaps I'll be in a grave before I can pull off anything like that...*sigh*

Took me only a couple of years to drastically change my style and skill. It's all about perseverance and determination. You gotta want it, and you'll see change in your artistic level in no time. Not everyone learns at the same pace.

Talk to yourself. Literally tell yourself, "DO IT DAMMIT!! DRAW THAT THING YOU CAN'T DRAW! I DON'T CARE IF YOU CAN'T DO IT, DO IT ANYWAY!!!!! YOU'RE GONNA FUCKING MAKE IT HAPPEN!!" That's what i do. And it works every time.

it's called practice. The more you do it, the better you get. If you don't have time it will take you longer for sure. But if ou keep doing it, you will improve.Β
BTW, if you don't have time, MAKE time. Doodle every single free time you have and you will improve.
Like said - perseverance. And practise.

Great! I think the most important part of your post is to be aware that great artists don't improve overnight.
*reads again* "More than 2 decades later".
That is the most important part. Don't give up, draw everyday and you will eventually get better. Now, compare the drawing after 20 years it sure will be a huge difference.

I did notice something about some artists, mainly cartoonists. The drawing from over 20 years ago is manga, now he draws realistic cartoons. I think some, or most of the cartoonists started with manga. I'm not gonna lie, I started as a manga artist, that's why my name is like this even though I don't care about anime anymore. I'm now a realistic cartoonist. I think that the artists that changed their style was because of wanting to get better. I changed because I didn't like my art and I wanted to make something my own, now that I've done it, I've gotten much better, and I'm much more happy about my art. But who knows, that's just my thought about that.

It happens, you can't get much better if you keep drawing as simplified as most anime is, like, for example, you can't get better at noses if all you do is put a dot in the middle of the face.
