I strongly believe that this is the most inspirational deviation that I ever submitted. So print it out and hang it on your wall and scream "I can do it too!"
Left: When I was 15 years old.
Right: More than 2 decades later.

The older sketch has a definite "Rumiko Takahashi"-style to it. It's charming in its own way.
The one on the left really does look great, though--and not even by comparison.

This is the absolute most inspirational art I have ever seen. I still look back at it periodically to keep me motivated and remind myself that I may not be the best artist yet, but I can become even as great as you. It just takes lots and lots of time, practice, effort, and dedication. Thank you so much for this, Artgerm. Just looking at this is the best way I know to get out of an art block.
Funny thing, too, even just a year ago when you posted this, I remember thinking the old one wasn't that bad. Now I look at it and notice so so many things wrong with it, especially comparing it to the new one. XD Guess that means at least my eye is getting better, if not my hand as well.
