Thank you! I had so much fun coming up with the dialogue. 
Putting myself in Dippers shoes to create his dialogue was my fave part of this.

i may have missed it but did Dipper end up taking the journal or just look a glance at it?

He took the journal.
I tried to show Dipper's eyes diverting for a moment to show his focus was no longer on Gideon but eyeing the journal as he telepathically took it away. He kept Gideon's attention away from noticing that by having a long monologue and tricking him to focus on his hat instead.
This was a difficult thing to convey, haha. But what can I do, I'm still learning the rope of this.
