Description
Since programs like Daz Studio works with polygon and subdivision surface models I usually make my props directly as poly models. This time, for Kate's new brace I thought I'd try out Rhino3D's new quad remeshing feature, (new to V7WIP) so this is a NURBS model, to be exported to Modo as quad polygons, and thence to Daz for Kate to try out.Related content

Looks very uncomfortable, but then again, I have never had the need to use one.
What is the reason Kate uses this, and not a more standard neck brace?

In the dialogue, the reason for changing it is that she found the first one very hot. As a para she has difficulty moderating their body temperature, that was a problem. This one is cooler, with the disadvantage(?) of being a bit more restrictive. There are other types of brace that would have worked, I actually had an old model of a metal 4-poster brace, but it was made for an older figure and would have required some work to update it. Anyway, I wanted to make one of these and now I have.

That makes a lot of sense. I must have missed that bit of dialogue, or forgotten about it.
I'm not an expert on the subject of braces by any means, but my cousin had to wear one maybe a decade ago, when she fell off her bicycle.

Really enjoy your work! Especially liked the milwakee/headgear series.
