Description
This is the landing platform in a Bryce project I've been working on lately.The project isn't finished, but I wanted to showcase my progress on it as it comes along. I'm going to eventually make a video of it (and maybe post it in flash/shockwave form on DA).
Please!!! If you have any input at all (constructive, of course), I'd love to hear it!

YEAH!!! I am very excited to see your work in 3D!! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember you and I discussing your desire to do 3D work all those year ago (:: we were so young then!
)
I've never used Bryce, but I am familiar with Maya... still, I am not a very good 3d artist! But I will critique what I can!
I like the shinyness you are creating on the metal, but it was also one of the first things that stuck out to me as looking a bit odd... Right now, the surface looks very computer-generated, because it is SO perfectly reflective. I think as you continue to work on this piece, adding imperfections and dulling the metal will add a lot more believablity to the structure. With your military experience, I'm sure you have lots of reference in your mind of different structures and metals to go from ^_^ Especially water-weathered ones.
Blah, that is such a detail thing, and to be added more near the end I understand. But it's just an early heads-up suggestion. ^_^

heh, heh... detail work can become a "blah" thing, but I'm sure I'll stop being lazy someday (probably when I'm not trying to learn two languages simultaneously and complete my military obligations at the same time!) Classiest place I've ever stayed though: Israel. We were in these trailer things and when I walked in ours, I was greeted by a foot-wide hole in wall and a large "Africanized" wasp that came through it shortly thereafter!
(we ran, btw)

OMG!!!! You must have quite the adventures on your travels!!! I heard recently that is the best thing to do when faced with a killer bee/wasp - KEEP RUNNING!!! I am glad you lived!
Yes yes, I agree wholeheartedly about the 'detail' thing.... goodness, I gotta force myself with all my will and then some to get myself to concentrate on details. It's just not in me!
What languages are you learning??? I am still trying to keep what little spanish I know alive in my mind after 4 years of it in high school and a 2 week visit to Mexico last summer (living with my two mexican friends, so I was in the thick of it! ) I struggle at language though... after college I really want to work on it for sure!

Yeah, I lived (much to the bee's chagrin, I'm sure) I'm learning Arabic right now (and dabbling in Norwegian on the side by myself when I have time).
I would encourage you to keep up with your language skills -- you never know when you're going to need them! XD

Looks pretty good.
I would have done away with the "Bryce horizon" effect but it seem to work here.
The underside seems a bit too dark considering all the light in the scene. Even if it does not get any direct light, there should be some light reflecting off the water and some from the sky. Might be a style thing though.
