Ya know, if you think about graphic serious and wish to become illustrator/concept artist I would recommend some kind of school, best would be some specific program like entertainment design or something [fzdschool] it would greatly speed up learning process for you.
Unfortunately I have no school like this in my country and all had to be self learned.

I think I'm more into graphic design, but concept artist is also something I would do with pleasure. I'm currently studying the closest possible thing to both in the univercity in my city... It's graphic and industrial design and we spent only a semester practicing PS and CorelDraw, but anyway... usually I'm good at self learning at home, if I'm patient and serious about this I'll get better eventually : )
