I'm so proud of this!!
I think I'm improving on drawing backgrounds!
I plan on continuing this one for quest 10!
I got inspiration for the gem monster from the Pokemon Feraligatr and Torterra
lmao I included a couple of my favorite entries for quest 2 in mine. (Pyrope and Pink Ocean Jasper.)
Red pearl totally isn't laughing at Pyrope I swear~ :3c

This is just the way she acts in the beginning of their relationship then she gets better about not hiding the fact that she had gotten injured. She does wants to seem super strong like she can never get injured.

Oooh that's a good idea! And Pyrope would eventually be all "look I'm glad you're acting tough but every gem has their limits" and would help tend to her wounds
and I mean Red Pearl knowing Pyrope had accidentally burned a berry bush for the second quest, but Pyrope not knowing that Red Pearl knows lol.

I plan on her poofing for quest 9. I planned it to where she had let her injuries get so bad and go untreated that she ends up poofing so easily when she gets knocked out of the way by Almandine. That and since she let it get so bad it will take her awhile to reform back.
She probably won't hint about knowing anything.. :3c

This kind of delves deeper into who Pearl is as a gem and how she sees herself. Like her self worth and what not.
I'm still deciding whether or not I should have Red Pearl have an owner before Pyrope who made her think this way??
Like she sees her health as not important compared to everything else and ends up neglecting herself trying to be the best and gain recognition for being the best.
This is all before any character development occurs.
That or idek i'm still figuring out her character so that might not be why she poofs I haven't decided yet.

speaking of idea, I was thinking about something along these lines . But instead Pyrope would be all "Red Pearl, come here NOW!" in a mean tone and she comes and the anger just melts away when they embrace into a loving hug and cuddles cause he's grumpy and just needs some hugs to cool down.
