Description If you know Pokemon, you know this hefty guy as Lt. Surge's bully side-kick at Vermillion City. Sergeant here may be of the same species, but he is an entirely different character. He doesn't really like to battle all that much, to be honest. He just prefers to lay around.

I was commissioned to do this guy based off of an individual's Raichu, but I don't have the link to it anymore It is an awesome Raichu plush, so I am sure many of you have seen it already. I was asked to make the same thing, only BIGGER. I did just that, and I am glad for the outcome. He is 27 inches long--- more than double the reference plush.

Thank you for looking at him

It's based of Aphid777's pokemon patterns isn't it? The head looks similar anyway .. Looks awesome

Actually, I think the person was called Catepillar-something... :/ I just looked at Aphid777's and you're right, their heads are similar :0 The classic "derp head," I guess.   I can't believe they can handle making things small and with an F hook. Yikes.

That's my Raichu you're talking about but I did use aphid777's Pikachu pattern

Ah well worth a try.

Haha well I have a 3mm hook and it works pretty well on small things to be honest, as long as you use a slightly thicker yarn or the filling will come out through the loops later. ^^

Really, you don't get knots? That is always my problem. I begin the magic circle/magic ring and the second I start putting stitches into it, it knots up! So frustrating. I have every hook size (about up to S), but I only use H, I, and K.

Knots? No... never happened to me, how do you manage that?  I mean the technique should be the same as with smaller hooks..

Ha ha ha ha. I don't know. xD I haven't been crocheting long (a little over a year) and learned via Youtube. Maybe I am not holding the hook correctly or something, ha ha.

It is cute. I think I will try making one when I get some time. Those guys belong in plush form.

I don't think I am familiar with Daedalic.

It's a german gaming publisher. But they also translate their games into other languages and sell them worldwide. ^-^

I hope it turns out as such. ^^ The shop I get yarn from has been low on brown, so he may end up being blue.

Oh, I see.

What is the significance of the platypus and Harvey? Are they characters in one of the games on here?

Marsy0nEarth In reply to ArtisansShadow [2014-05-28 14:03:59 +0000 UTC]

That would be awesome. In Deponia existing many types of Schnabeltiere. And yeah one is blue :3
de.deponia.wikia.com/wiki/Schn…
It's a Luftschnabeltier. He can fly ^-^
In "Goodbye Deponia" you have to collect platypus eggs to unlock a secret. They are so cute.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQKW0f…
The video shows every species.

Yeah, Harvey is the psychotic plush in "Edna" and the platypuses are the little sidekicks in "Deponia" ^^
They have their own humour and charm. <3

I'm sorry for my crazy behaviour but I LOVE Daedalic *-*

Awww. I like the red one.
This is so strange, in a good way though. I will have to give this game a shot.
Fervor isn't being crazy. Just over-passionate about ones interests (snicker) x] It is okay, I get that way about animals, Pokemon, Victor Hugo, and a few other things.

OK ^-^ If you write so.
You like poems?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ArtisansShadow In reply to Marsy0nEarth [2014-05-29 02:14:45 +0000 UTC]

I will try and get my hands on it.
Poems? Well, I don't really go out of my way to read any, but what I stumble upon I can sometimes empathize enough with that I will favor it. I read all I can, and try to have a new perceptive, if not much liking of the actual poem.

I didn't know Victor Hugo, so I looked him up. And the internet says he was a poet. ^-^
I personally love Edgar A. Poe. He wrote extreme morbid stories and poems, but you can find a bit of truth in every word.

ArtisansShadow In reply to Marsy0nEarth [2014-05-29 22:50:58 +0000 UTC]

Well, he was a poet, but he was also a novelist. He wrote Hutchback of Notre Dame, Les Miserables, etc. I enjoy his stories.

Edgar Allen Poe is just immensely over-rated these days. I like his stuff, but he has garnered much more recognition thanks to over-exposure to school kids. He deserves the attention, but there exist other poets; some which are greater, who have with them just as much macabre and as much perspective. He was beaten into my head in middle school and high school, and I was introduced to few other writers. Also, I feel like he is the "go to response" for those who want to appear well-read and well-versed, because he was virtually the only poet they were exposed to.  That isn't directed at you or anything, it is just my unfortunately observation these days...

Regardless of my rant, I did enjoy the Raven.

Ay, never rad those storys. I'm more fan of the macabre dark side of literature. Like Poe, King or Lovecraft. But I also read some classic or crazy things.
I don't think you know Loriot, Heinz Erhardt or Ringelnatz. They are quite popular here and wrote amazing (german) poetry. Loriot and Heinz Erhardt were more the comedians in television, but also had some books or readings. ^^
I found a translation of Ringelnatz. <3
www.beilharz.com/poetas/ringel…

We never talked about him in school. There were some german middle age guys like "von der Vogelweide". And of course MANY german authors in general. Even in English we never talked about good literature. I found some books one day and in there was a story called „The Murders in the Rue Morgue“. After I rad that I fell in love. I have many audio books with creepy short storys from many authors, but never ever loved I one story more than that. ^-^

I have to admit that I NEVER rad that story. But "The pit and the pendulum" ^^'

ArtisansShadow In reply to Marsy0nEarth [2014-05-30 15:13:02 +0000 UTC]

Ooooh. Lovecraft. Love Lovecraft.

I have read just about everything, but I am VERY picky. As a writer myself, I need to explore every piece of literature to fuel my own world.

Oh, yes. I never considered that you may not be forced to read Poe in school. Oops... Oversight on my part. I sorry.

"Murders of the Rue Morgue" and "The Pit and the Pendulum," are also stories that are enjoyable, but we were given no choice in the matter of reading them, ha ha.

Those poems you linked me to had me in stitches xD

Marsy0nEarth In reply to ArtisansShadow [2014-06-01 00:48:01 +0000 UTC]

We were forced in school to write. Like poems or short storys. I'm not patient enough for a long story, but I tried. XD

Ay, no prob. I know that some poets are overused XD We had the same with dramas -.- Goethe, Brecht, Schiller, Lessing and so on. I can't see/read " Die Räuber" or "Der aufhaltsame Aufstieg des Arturo Ui" any more.

That's cool ^-^ I enjoy his texts. They are fresh and have that special humour.
