Description
You stared, wide-eyed at the woods in front of you. Years of obsession with that creepypasta website made you question everything around you but this time was different. There was something in your backyard that greatly resembled a Slenderman tentacle. Your heart raced with excitement as you walked toward the long black object, camera in hand. Just before reaching the supposed Slenderman the thing coiled up and hissed. You froze, dumbfounded, was that what Slenderman sounded like? While you were slowly connecting the dots the snake lifted his ugly head and chomped down on your leg. You threw the camera at the snake and it flashed as it struck a rock beside the snake. "Stupid blacksnakes!" you seethed "I didn't even touch you!"

The snake hissed again before slithering off into the undergrowth. You sighed in relief when he left and you grabbed your camera as you sat down to examine the bite. The one day you don't wear boots, the ONE day! You wince when your pants scrape against the red spot. Only one fang managed to draw some blood and the snake isn't poisonous so you shrugged it off and let your pants unroll. "Ugh," you groaned "I wish I could find one thing to prove that I'm not just paranoid! I mean, really, sure he kills people and stuff but when was the last time he publicly displayed a victim? Maybe he keeps them hidden somewhere."

Your thought actually started to make some sense "Yeah! What if he isn't killing anymore!"

Then your thoughts went to the morning news. A guy about your age had been found dead, in your neighborhood, with a 'strange' symbol on his forehead, all innards removed including his heart, brain, and part of a leg.

You hung your head low and stared at the ground in sadness. It wasn't until a few minutes later that your sudden sadness turned into anger. "Well what was I expecting?!" you yelled out sharply, half smiling "Was I going to find Slenderman and say 'Oh, would you like to come inside for a spot of tea?' Get REAL (your name)! He's supposed to kill people!"

You stood up quickly and saluted the forest "Good day to you Slenderman, I hope you don't kill me for being nosy!"

Then you speed-walked back to the house.

After dinner you had decided to make some cookies for dessert. The days events still on your mind you gathered the ingredients and placed them on the counter. "Apron!" you whispered to yourself.

You headed over to the dining room to grab the apron from the back of your chair when you heard a noise in the kitchen. It sounded like footsteps at first but you related that with your own footsteps and picked up the apron. On the return trip you noticed another sound: static. "Oh crap!" you muttered under your breath "It's really him!"

Every step you made towards the kitchen the more light headed you felt so you waited by the door to the kitchen for your impending doom. The light headedness stopped after a period of time and you felt the need to enter the kitchen. Nothing. Not a thing was out of place in the kitchen, that is, except for a note. The note was pinned to the fridge with one of your proxy magnets, it read: CAMERA. It looked just like one of the notes that now littered every corner of the internet. You dropped the apron and ran for the camera on the countertop next to the fridge. When you turned it on what you saw both horrified and excited you: A blurred picture from the accidental flash that showed green trees and... and a Slenderman in the far right corner.

The static sound came back again but from every electronic in the house. You shoved the camera in your pocket and screamed "LEAVE ME ALONE!"

The noise ceased and everything went quiet. You silently noted that this always works in scary movies and apparently in real life. Your eyes settled on the cookie ingredients and glanced over the note. "The cookies will have to wait 'til tomorrow."

You cautiously put everything away and headed to bed upstairs, making sure to bring at least five flashlights and a butcher knife with you. Hopefully sleep will calm your nerves.
