Process:
Photoshop manip of the iris of my crayola drawing: latinabarbie.deviantart.com/ar…
I drew the eye with crayon, photographed it and posted it in the link above. I then selected the iris only and put it in a separate file in photoshop. I used the liquify tool so that it was a perfect circle and added a slight shadow to the corners, liquified the pupil to form a heart and adjusted the colors with a 30% gradient overlay and brought out the white in the highlights. Added a layer of stars as an extra touch. The reason I manipulated the photo is for a circle shaped necklace I am making with just the iris. But then after I was done I thought, hmmm wonder what it would look like if I put the iris back in the original photo. This was the result.
Side note: Keep the cleavage jokes to yourself, don't waste your time because I will delete them! Unless you're a home schooled per-pubescent 14 year old teen that just discovered the internet for the first time through this photo, there's really nothing you haven't seen here before! Plus, there are plenty much more revealing images on dA to keep you entertained. I really don't seen the big deal. But I digress...
These are the exact dimensions of the photo without a crop as it was taken. Instead of cropping the photo, i left the entire photo as it was taken to show perspective of what I could see as the photo was literally being taken from my face. I opened up the TimerCam app on my iPhone, set it for 5 seconds, positioned myself and my hands as you see here and snapped the photo with my top lip. Took a few tries before I got this shot

I opened up the TimerCam app on my iPhone, set it for 5 seconds, positioned myself and my hands as you see here, put half of the phone in my mouth so that it was steady and snapped the photo with my top lip. Took a few tries before I got this shot

Wow. I know most of people commented on the amazing colorful iris so I would like to tell that I find the 3D effect you got by placing your hands that way. It took me a minute to believe the lashes and lids were an actual drawing. Amazing work.

How long have you been doing art? Have you ever thought of professional work? I've not even looked thought your gallery but rather just at your thumbnails and I'm still amazed. There is so much creative color usage that I'm beyond words to describe it.

Thank you! Yes I have. I've recently made a personal goal to be fully self sustained through my art in 2013. Ive been doing art mostly all of my life. I started taking it seriously about 20 years ago, when I was in high school. I sell my work online and make a nice side income off of it as well as my feather headdress design. That is sweet. Wish I could find people to buy my art but no one is interested in comics in the town I live in. I mean it's my life goal to be a comic penciler and I always practice and always need to practice but... I am taking steps to break into the business though but I hate waiting and being broke to get supplies and fees ready.

believe me i understand i was thousands of dollars (still am but not as bad) in debt from art alone so yeah it's tough. it also does take a LOT of time, determination and patience but it's possible! don't wait for people in your town to buy. go online. 70% of my sales are from out of the country and 90% is from people i've never met
