Description
Stephen wouldn't like this, Nickelodeon will make "SpongeBob SquarePants" spinoff, "Kamp Koral" on Netflix. This is wonderful.Forgot to submit this 5 months ago.

Here are only three words you need to say to Brian Robbins (the mastermind behind this thing, along with the Squidward spin-off):
GO FUCK YOURSELF BRIAN ROBBINS!!!!!

Hey, donβt you think thatβs a little extreme? Itβs just a show. Itβs not the end of the world.Β

I'm sorry. But I don't care anymore. If Nickelodeon and Brian Robbins are going to go disrespect the man's wishes to two unnecessary spin-offs, it still vents my rage anyway.

Well, you shouldβve seen this coming. In his animation guidebook, Joe Murray explains that when you do a show with network funding, you will get it done faster, but you will lose full ownership of the show and it belongs to them (unless you can find a way buy the show back, like Danny Antonucci did when Ed, Edd n Eddy ended), so they can make spin offs whether you like it or not. Now, if you do a show independently, it will take longer to get done, but at least the show will still be yours.

Even if Hillenburg died, and if someone else has control for the show after his death. I don't care at all. Fuck anyone who goes against his wishes.

Look at the bright side, it could always be worse. Besides, maybe these spin offs will be so bad that we can all make fun of them.

Yes. Theyβll go bankrupt and then hundreds of veteran and upcoming animators will be out of a job, essentially ending their careers.

I was just telling you about the results, not agreeing on them deserving to go bankrupt. If they do go bankrupt, it would end the careers of actual artists and animators. Besides, as Joe Murray warned us in his animation guidebook, if you do a show with network funding, you lose full ownership and they can pretty much do whatever they want. So if you want to keep full ownership, create a show independently, which in turn, could take lots of years to do.

The same goes for The Powerpuff Girls. Craig McCracken, the creator presented it to Cartoon Network and now the network owns the show and its franchise, not Craig. Thus, this decision lead to the 2016 reboot.
Sorry if I'm butting in, but I decided to give another example, because I'm correcting false information.

Exactly. Thatβs what Iβm trying to say. Network funded shows will get full ownership by the network. If you wanna keep ownership, you have to produce it independently. If anything, the fans shouldβve seen this coming.

Oh, yes. Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends was originally created independently by Britt Allcroft in her own business: The Britt Allcroft company, but when Thomas and the Magic Railroad became a cinematic failure, The Britt Allcroft company had to sell Thomas to the entertainment company HIT Entertainment (now part of Mattel Television) in 2002.
About PPG, well, as much as I find the 2016 show "okay" I understand that the whole franchise (and yes, that includes the 1998 show) is under full ownership by Cartoon Network, and not its creator, Craig McCracken (who submitted his concept to the network).
I'm just making a statement.
