I've had a dream about my mother. We were standing in front of the entrance door, of the apartment building she lives in and I was trying to talk to her but she couldn't hear or see me. I realized I was a ghost and I felt sad that I was dead. She left, taking round about the building towards the opposite side. I followed her, but not closely, we walked through a garden with no trees or fences; a few people were scattered, standing motionless. She stopped in front of an enormous white sun that was almost touching the ground. The light was very bright but you could look at it but she was facing me. I noticed that she was young and that she was wearing a white medium dress that seemed to be moved my the air. "She is 25" I told myself and I realized not only that she was younger than me but also that she was the one who was the ghost, not me. The bright star expanded and covered her and then everything else in whiteness. Then I woke up. I can only remember a few of my dreams (maybe 5) and this is one of them; the other ones are scary. The drawing doesn't depict the dream of course

Yes, I am fond of pencil, I find its shading more expressive. But people are usually attracted to colors

I feel the same way. Over anything, pencilΒ is what I feel most at home with, and its what I love to see the most. This piece is so great, and that dream you had sounds really interesting, and very sad. I would say sorry, out of sympathy, but I feel like you relish that dream.

The truth is that you can see if a person is skilled or not when using traditional mediums, especially pencil. Not to mention that you have very little means: a paper, a pencil and your mind.
I'm glad you like my drawing. I hope my dream/drawing doesn't make you sad though, once I finish a drawing I never think about it again

Finishing a drawing is for me like an exorcism, once the ghost took shape it no longer haunts my mind.

(I remember at least one dream every two to three days but most of the time like 99 percent their just nonsense)

I don't know why people think that they should do something meaningful in this life. I think that a man's main purpose is this influence he has on everyone and everything around him. A simple nice word he/she once said to someone makes a man irreplaceable in this world. But even the fact that the divine contemplated that you should have a place in this world is a miracle. No one else could ever take your place.

i really like this piece.. it reminds me of a phoenix rising from the ashes...
i havent had a dream in a long time, but when i try to sleep images flash before my minds eye and i can mostly controll them and see what i think of in my mind
but i have 1 disturbing image that sometimes returns and that's seeing people with no eyes it's pretty scary

I think that psychologists would say that people with no eyes symbolize traumas and distress - no wonder I draw eyeless characters
Most dreams don't mean anything, that's why we never remember them

That sounds like a beautiful, if sad, dream. Most of my dreams include being inside my favourite game and being attacked my zombies/vampires/my parents/my best friend gone insane.

Very cool drawing, glad to see your textures coming from her dress... and that dream was intense! Sometimes mine are like that, really vivid, and I'm really locked into them (often I can tell I'm dreaming in a dream...) Are you keeping a journal? Or are you just noting them here?

Oh yea, I thought my drawings needed more texture. I don't need a journal for my nocturnal dreams, I only remember a couple and those are unforgettable. All the other dreams are here
