Experiment 453 - Trip - Designed to teleport armies for ambush maneuvers. With focus and a clap of his hands, 453 can open portals in time and space to any location, as long as he has a picture of it to reference. This was meant to be useful, but unfortunately, 453 was a failure. He’s easily confused and distracted, and therefore winds up sending people to the opposite of where they want to go! Lilo and Stitch found him a One True Place at the Birds of Paradise Hotel with the concierge, where he teleports tourists to a random spot in paradise so they can have an adventurous vacation.

Okay, look, I did have a reason!!

If you’ve seen my X621: Chopsuey art, you know I’ve got a longer ongoing story in mind. Many years after the events of Leroy & Stitch, Stitch’s forgotten older brother Chopsuey escapes his long imprisonment and comes to earth seeking revenge. He starts his scheme by convincing a select handful of Experiments to give up on the idea of Ohana and join him being naughty. I decided if I want to expound more on this idea, I’ve got to start designing those Experiments that make up his little posse, first.

Trip is one of those Experiments! With unintentional help from Trainer, 621 figures out a way to get Trip to fix his teleporting glitch so that he and his naughty Experiments can move more quickly wreaking havoc. Now Trip drops them anywhere 621 wants, or helps them escape back to their hideout on Niihau when Lilo and Stitch try to break up the evil fun. It is Trip who eventually teleports Bonnie and Clyde into Galactic Federation Prison so that they can bust Leroy out. (He’s not quite good enough at his ability to pop a portal open in Leroy’s cell, which would’ve been easier!)

Anyway, Trip is a cocky, snappy little bunny-like Experiment who likes to show off and look cool, and his motto is “I meant to do that!” He gets sick of teleporting random tourists long before 621 shows up. It didn’t help that 621 is manipulative and easily convinced Trip that Lilo & Stitch and Jumba didn’t believe in him, they thought he was a screwup, but 621 would help him “reach his full potential!” Now Trip loves to join fights, popping in and out of his own portals left and right. Kind of sad, since he’s a nice guy.
