Apparently eye-like markings like this one are common on silver birch trees, but this one really struck me and made me stop to take the photo.Hengistbury Head, Dorset, England

Wonderfully eerie-looking! The leaves around it are so pretty, too. I love how their colourfulness is such a stark contrast to the almost greyscale birch bark, and how that adds to it looking unsettling. Great shot!
