Description

- In this new world, several hundreds of years have passed, among the new successful line of intelligent species on earth are the birds, aka the corvids. They've all diversified into many groups w/ each using a evolutionary trait unique to their groups and are at different levels of tool use/intelligence. A developing culture slowly blooms w/ certain groups as well.

- Humans have long since lost their title as the unchallenged 'dominant species' of earth. Those that are left on the surface able to tolerate the (now in decline) radiation saturated environment due to a mutation in their genetics, triggered by the radiation ironically, that renders the harmful effects of said radiation null. A close comparison being the grasshopper mouse and how it uses the venom of the scorpion as a painkiller and render it's stings moot. When the sh*t hit the fan and before civilization collapsed, three things happened: many fled into space; others fled underground; and the rest were left behind. A large chunk of the population died off. Leaving humanity in the hundred-dozen or so range in numbers. Scarce and scattered, many

- A young corvid, female, is on a journey to find a suitable new home. Carrying w/ her a discarded purse, stuffed w/ grasses and other soft material, she uses to carry her clutch of eggs. She wasn't always alone as she and her mate were on the journey together when a pack of Hellhounds (www.deviantart.com/artmakerpro… ) separated them and he was chased down and killed by the dogs. Along her way, she witnesses a human woman being attacked by Wild Chickens (www.deviantart.com/artmakerpro… ). In an act of compassion, she wards off the assailants. Checking on the human, still shaken from the attack. Dipping her head in a bow to show that she means no harm. Eventually the two go on the journey together on a “road trip” across America.
