Mock Plesiosaur or Sealguin - African Penguin (or the Jackass Penguin) that underwent a dramatic change, taking on a body plan similar to the plesiosaur and hesperornis. Classified as a Lesser Mutant. Strong wide and flat paddle-like feet for propulsion. Adults are among the prey items of Wholves w/ their chicks being the target of land predators. Will regurgitate a highly fatty milk-like substance for their chick (a majority having between one-to-three offspring) for their first few weeks before switching over to fish, which is done in a pile for their chick to eat on their own rather than directly into their mouths as most of their other relatives due to the size difference. Like their ancestors, they're monogamous (unless their unable to produce offspring or their partner goes missing or is killed). The Californian coastline being their preferred place of nesting. Will gather here yearly basis with numbers reaching up to near thousands. Young males will holler, much like the braying of a donkey (hence, “jackass” in their ancestral species’ name) for the attention of females, and once settled down begin their nest building. A depression in the ground usually w/ minimal insulation due to the warmer climate. Parents will take turns watching over their egg/young, leaving for weeks at a time and switching out once they return from the sea. If an egg or chick is unguarded, this leaves them vulnerable to predators such as the Velvet Death or Great Soaring Ghoul Monkey. Highly territorial and protective. Will bite and peck the hell out of anything that gets too close.
