Description
Once upon a time I was walking in a forestThere came unto me a great and shining light
It was leering at me through the canopy
It was slowly calling my name
I walked into a clearing in this forest
And there lay a flower on its side
The most beautiful flower
Yet it seemed weak and fragile
I moved to it to lift its petals to the sun
And as I moved it shook as if wanting to lay down
I asked the flower "Why do you not want sunlight"
And as if it responded it sighed
The flower went from a brilliant yellow
To a dark and murky purple
It's stem withered slightly
And the petals started to fall
I watched in horror as this beautiful flower
Turned into a grotesque withered plant
And as I scooped up the petals to hold them
They dithered into ash
The light that shone so brilliantly
Suddenly went away and there loomed a giant cloud
It started to weep and the forest grew ominous
The eerie presence of sadness could be felt
The clearing and its fallen leaves turned to decay
And the forest grew old and started to bend
A great wind took the petals from me
And I slumped to the ground and wept
No one knows the pain of the forest
When all you notice is a flower
For there is nature abundant and surrounding
Yet now there is no one to care for the trees
The grass, and by the time you reach the flower
It is in it's last day
It is already withered
You just can't see it yet
