Description
This was my first digital painting in a long time! My personification of Spring. Fiery hair, flirty freckles, and flowers all around. I wanted to play with the chunky oil paint brushes in Manga Studio, and leave some nice visible strokes in the painting.

Gorgeous work! The tones and colors are just lovely. I'm really impressed with how you've rendered the flowers (I've tried to color flowers before and it usually does not work in my favor, lol). The skin tones are very nice.
I agree with the other critiquer that the face looks more refined than the body. The coloring on the face is cleaner and precise, while parts of the coloring/shading on the body are looser.
Another thing that stands out is the shape of her head. The line defining her forehead curves inward too sharply. However, I see she has elfish ears, so you can argue she's not human, and wouldn't have the same skull shape.

At first I wasn't sure if I would be able to render peonies even remotely correct! They definitely went through a few tests. I want to do more flower framed portraits now, because they were super fun to do and good blending practice.
The forehead was a conscious decision. I wanted to exaggerate her African features and give her an almost cat like face shape.

The coloring in this image blew me away. The salmon color on her breast bone is absolutely gorgeous. So warm and yes has this coolness to it. It reminds me of winter melting away. The apricot plays strikingly well against her skin tone and adds so much depth.
Those flowers are delicious! They actually look palatable. She looks like she's blooming!
Her face is lovely. She is the center of warmth. And those eyes are entrancing. Love the freckles. Beautiful hair.
Here's my only critique:
I think you paid more attention to her face than her body. It's noticeable because I've spent so long looking at her though.

;D You were right about the body, I definately spent more time on the face, since it was the central focus point. I think next time if I do that technique I may leave all of the outter edges more sketchy, this time it came off more lazy then intentional.

You have definitely captured the warmth of Spring in this picture. I love how her skin has a wood-like look, like a tree in full blossom. Wonderful job! Beautiful personification!
