Description
The amazing title-creator strikes again!Designed her to be some sort of a mid-game boss, with robotic tentacles to keep it sexy.
Learned some things designing and painting this.

The trailer came after I made this, I think.
And I love all the Overwatch characters. Symmetra is really cool imo.

One thing yg aku note kerja ko bile ko buat studi ref quality lg bagus dr personal piece ko, yg nie kene improvise taruk banyak dark tone baru character pop out sket. Satu trick utk bg color light naik pick color yg opposite dr color wheel: contoh red > blue letak blue dlm shadow/silhouette character. jgn blurkn forground unless mmg nk focus mid/bg mcm camera effect nnt image hilang dianye depth. Anyway goodjob bleh maju lg nie..

Dulu kuat buat study, tapi sekarang nak kurangkan fokus sikit kat arah tu, dan nak fokus buat personal punya stuff. Study je takleh cari makan, haha! So, ni memang nak pukul sama rata kualiti dua-dua sekali.
Blurkan tu sebab ingat nak indicate yang bola tu ada kat foreground, so buat blur lens tipu sikit. Tapi tak perasan pulak hilang depth.
Anyway, terima kasih menjenguk. Baru tadi perasan thread kat Pergh tu, haha. Tak tau pulak orang lama kat situ.

But seriously i was getting a bit worried since it had gotten quite around you.
I like the design from a artistic point of view and from costume design which is great for a painting but here's the big problem I see.
You wrote you wanted it to be a mini boss for a game, therefore you have to design it with the player in mind.
The player need to instantly know whether or not it is a boss or a friendly npc. Is the hostile or helpfull.
If she is hostile, what are her primariy weapons, and movement patterns will these balls be the main weapon or the small tentacles on her back, should i be worried about her mechanicles legs or are they just decoration?
A good example i can think of right now would be laughing octopus from metal gear solid 4

her pose implies pover and confidence, the fact that she levitates shows that she is "above" the player.
Personaly, i think it is quite important for boss designs to show of the attitude of the npc and what makes him or her poverfull.

She's not a hostile character, just a character with different ideals from the player! (I guess I'm playing too much MGS, haha!)
I actually have a rough character description for her.
"She's a boss character of some sort, who has exo-muscular suit which gives her a bit extra strength and speed than normal human. She can control those floating ball thing, as it makes up for her lack of ranged ability. Those floating balls could incapacitate the player by swarming, stunning using electric shocks, or facehugging. She then could move in for the kill by pinning the player with the tentacles, and melee them. The redlight thingy is an indicator if her suit/tentacles are functioning properly or not, and might go off, or change colors."
About the pose, initially, I had her be more intimidating, with walking in an assertive pose, but the pose changed a lot in the finished version, so a lot is lost in the process. I should preserve the intention throughout the painting process. This one looks like she is intrigued, like a professor or something.
But thanks for the feedback! I actually referenced a bit of Shinkawa's designs from MGS, so I guess I have a lot to learn for for characters.

before i posted the reply to your design i actually watched the encounter on youtube. and was really suprised that she is, just like you said, not all that hostile. But it seemed so counterintutive of hideo kojima to have on the one hand this bad ass design and then the actually ingame footage D:
So yeah I may not have picked the best example, I'm sorry for that.
Please do not belive that i think any less of your artwork becaue of my critique, I am currently in a position where i can just look up to you, but i'm also sad that there are so little chances to talk to or even get to know the people behind the paintings.

Yea, I don't mind that.
Anyway, you're currently improving very fast. Kinda wish I had the same drive now. You're doing good.
About the people behind the paintings, sometimes they're not as extravagant as their works. I like lying and rolling on the floor very much!
